“His level is up there with Salah” – Jody Morris hails Chelsea player after outstanding performance against Brentford
Following Chelsea 1-0 victory over Brentford, Former Chelsea assistant manager Jody Morris believes Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy is one of the best players in the Premier League this season, alongside Mohamed Salah of Liverpool.
Mendy was named man of the match in Chelsea’s 1-0 victory over Brentford on Saturday after producing six saves to deny Brentford.
Morris tweeted: “Mendy is up there with Salah so far this season!!!”
“Won’t get the same plaudits,” he added in another tweet, “but his level of performance in his position is upper echelon.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea centre-back Thiago Silva has slammed the decision to snub Mendy for this year’s Ballon d’Or.
Sharing a post from Chelsea’s Instagram page after Mendy’s Man of the Match display, the Brazilian centre-back wrote: “He won the Champions League as one of the best goalkeepers?? Left off the list for the Ballon d’Or?”
