Chelsea set take on Barnsley this evening in the Carabao Cup.
The Championship side will present a different sort of challenge for Frank Lampard’s side, but still a challenge all the same.
Lampard will be really pushing to win a trophy in his second season as Chelsea boss, especially after coming so close last season. This competition will be seen as a perfect opportunity to win.
I’d expect a reasonably strong looking line up for Chelsea tonight, with new signings Thiago Silva and Ben Chilwell both looking for minutes and may even start the game.
Youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi will be starting the game, as confirmed by The Telegraph earlier today.
This will be a perfect chance for him to show his worth in the midst of rumours linking him to a move away from Stamford Bridge yet again.
Willy Caballero will come in for Kepa Arrizabalaga, and there will be starts for further fringe players.
Predicted Xl – (4-3-3): Caballero, Azpilicueta, Tomori, Silva, Chilwell. Kante, Barkley, Loftus-Cheek. Hudson-Odoi, Abraham, Giroud.
