I am sincere – Spanish International OFFICIALLY tells fans he is likely to be a Chelsea player this summer
Marco Alonso has stated that he would likely stay at Chelsea this summer, despite his desire to move to Spain.
Alonso has been a key member of Chelsea’s starting lineup in recent months, and he has performed admirably at left-back.
However, he was unable to reach an agreement with Chelsea on a new deal, allowing Barcelona to jump in – establish contact – and attempt to persuade him to leave London during the transfer season.
And, if all rumors are to be believed, it worked, as the Chelsea defender reportedly committed to a three-year contract with the Catalan giants, and was on his way back to Spain.
However, it appears that this is not the case, as Alonso has startled many fans by revealing that he would most likely stay at Stamford Bridge this summer — When questioned about a summer move to La Liga by Onda Cero, he said: “Not at the moment.” I have one more year of contract on paper, and that is what I have until today.
“I have already said other times that I would like to but it does not depend entirely on me.
“There are two games left here and then it’s time to rest.”
Alonso has also admitted that he is happy about his Chelsea career achievements – but there is a burning desire to pack his bags and head back to Spanish football – he added: “I’ve played 50 games, we’ve been world champions, we’ve been unlucky in the cup finals.
“I can’t complain about anything at Chelsea but the desire to play in Spain is there.
“It’s not entirely up to me and I’m happy at Chelsea. I am sincere.”
