“I am so tired of him, no creative force on the pitch” – Chelsea fans blasts player after poor performance against Crystal Palace

Following Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace, Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic has been blast by a Chelsea fan following his awful  performance in the game.

However, a Chelsea fan and Reddit user wholesomescott wrote: “I am so tired of the “Pulisic has potential” talk. I do not agree whatsoever.

“The guy has no potential to play on the top level because his football IQ is terrible. He is Ross Barkley with pace.

“There are so many situations where the correct resolution to the play is both simple to spot, visible to him, and easy to execute and yet he fails spectacularly.

“Look at one of the best situations in yesterday’s game.”

The fan continues: “Lukaku plays the ball into Pulisic. Pulisic takes a very good touch between defenders, Kai makes the run in anticipation of the through ball. Here is the moment of Pulisic making the pass.

“He is not off-balance, has control of the ball, sees Kai making the run, and which pass do you think he’s choosing? A – to put him one on one with the keeper? B – to put Kai outside, on his weaker foot and in physical 1v1 with Andersen?

“Answer – he chooses B, but fails to execute, passes straight to Andersen.

“Another situation from the Man City game that I remember only because of how much it pissed me off. Pulisic gets the ball from Kova on his own half. Runs through the middle while having Bernardo Silva in front of him on the left, and Rodri chasing him from the right.

“He feels Rodri making contact from the right, so he stops the ball unexpectedly, letting momentum take Rodri away from him, and creates a huge amount of free space, he’s free of players challenging him, with a lot of time to pick the next play.

“What does our hero do? Is it A – pass to Azpilicueta? B – using your speed to attack the free space with the ball and making a decisive pass later in the final third? Or is it C – slow everything the fuck down, make a touch towards your own goal, and pass to Kante, who is barely visible on this screen?

“I am sad to inform you, that our £58m, 23-year-old player, in his third season in the league, who is expected to be a creative force on the pitch, chose option C.

“One might try to desperately argue that he doesn’t see Azpilicueta. Even if by some chance, Azpilicueta isn’t in his peripheral vision at any point of this move (doubtful), after playing for a year in a three-at-the-back formation you simply have to understand that in transitions a wingback will try to become a passing outlet wide. Especially when you were playing wingback multiple times. So Pulisic has to know at the point of freeing himself that he has a teammate somewhere on the right side.

“The guy can’t play team football on the top level because his understanding of what is going on around him and quick decision-making is Ross Barkley level.”
