“I don’t make this decision, this is all I can do” – Donnarumma finally sends strong message to Mendy after winning the Lev Yashin award
Edouard Mendy did not win the Goalkeeper award at the Ballon D’or awards ceremony, However, In what is named as the Yashin award, Mendy came second to Gianluigi Donnarumma, which is an absolute farce if you ask me.
Asked to comment on Edouard Mendy finishing second, the Italian keeper said: “Mendy is a fantastic goalkeeper. I congratulate him on winning the Champions League.
“I don’t know what stopped him winning, I don’t make this decision. I admire him, he’s an excellent goalkeeper.
“All I can do is to congratulate him on his season with Chelsea and his national team.”
It seems that even Donnarumma is aware of the fact that Mendy was the fans’ favourite to win this award!
He won more trophies and kept more clean sheets than the PSG goalkeeper this year so we’re not quite sure why he lost out.
