“I don’t think it’s a good move for him” – Glen Johnson warns Chelsea player to avoid leaving Chelsea for Premier league club
Timo Werner and Rangnick know each other from their time in Leipzig, and the German boss seems to be interested in the Chelsea striker.
However, according to latest reports, the Chelsea striker has been surprisingly linked with a move to Manchester United since Ralf Rangnick was appointed as their new manager.
Werner was fought for by Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United before he signed up for the Blues, but he is yet to reach his best heights in the Premier League.
Former Chelsea and Liverpool defender Glen Johnson, has warned Werner to forget about making a move to Manchester United, claiming that it won’t be good for both parties.
Johnson told BetttingOdds: “I don’t think that’s a good move for either party to be honest.”
“I don’t think it’s a good move for Manchester United and I don’t think it’s a good move for Timo Werner.
“United seem to want to sign any player available in that position which is just madness.
“For me, they signed Jadon Sancho for a position they didn’t need and they’ve got [Cristiano] Ronaldo, [Mason] Greenwood and [Edinson] Cavani. They clearly can’t play all these players and keep them all happy.
“For Timo Werner to thrive then he has to be playing somewhere where he plays every week and at Manchester United he’s not going to do that.”
