“I enjoyed playing in this position please” – Cole Palmer tells Pochettino his best position ahead of Cup final

Chelsea star Cole Palmer has now shared which position he enjoys playing the most when playing for the club right now.

He told the club’s Twitter the one role he enjoys playing most in the middle of a promotional video for his recent ‘Future Stars’ card on EA Sports FC 24.

Palmer has arguably been the player of the season for the Blues this campaign, which is an astonishing achievement considering he is the most recent first team player to join the club on a permanent basis.

12 goals and eight assists in all competitions speak for themselves though, with his impact on the side clear to see.

He is currently one of the first names on the teamsheet for Mauricio Pochettino, however it is not always easy to nail down one role for him to play.

The 21-year-old has featured in a number of positions since his summer move from Manchester City. He has played on the right, as part of a midfield three and as a false nine to varying levels of success.

When asked though, Palmer was able to nail down the one role he personally prefers.

Palmer on his favourite position

He said: “If I had to pick one, right wing probably.”

The former City man featured in that role last Saturday against his former side, as the Blues looked to get a result against the title favourites.

While they were forced to settle for a point at the Etihad, the manager will have been particularly impressed by the performance of the trio in attack for how they linked up in the first half in particular.

Palmer will therefore be arguably the first name on the teamsheet when the Blues take part in the EFL Cup final on Sunday, with the chance of winning the first domestic trophy of the season.
