“I expect Tuchel to start using him, he still loves him”- Paul Brown tells Tuchel to start using Chelsea star following exit reports
Despite Antonio Rudiger’s impending summer departure, Daily Star journalist Paul Brown expects Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel to employ him until the end of the season.
He’s been a key player for the Blues this season, but he hasn’t committed his future to the club, refusing to sign a new contract.
The 29-year-current old’s contract expires in June, and according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, he will join Real Madrid next season.
The player is anticipated to sign a four-year contract with the Spanish champions, with an official announcement expected at the end of this season.
It’s a major loss for Tuchel and his team, since Rudiger has become into a key component in their defense despite just missing a few league games.
Brown feels that despite Rudiger’s impending departure, he will continue to play a role in games while still at the club.
Speaking to GiveMeSport, Paul Brown said: “The manager still loves him, and he is very important to Chelsea, so I think there is absolutely no doubt he will continue to start games until the end of the season.”
Paul Merson also added: “They’re going to need him. It would be a big surprise if he was to leave him out. He has a much closer relationship with Rudiger than he ever did with Christensen, and he did say, basically, that Christensen was dropped because there was an issue over his future.”
Andreas Christensen’s contract at Chelsea expires in the summer, and he is largely anticipated to leave the club.
