“I have to be honest, with how we played” – Tuchel reacted to Chelsea’s 3-2 victory over Leeds
Leeds United took the lead through a Raphinha penalty after Marcos Alonso fouled Daniel James in the box. The Blues levelled the scores just before half-time after Mason Mount converted an Alonso low cross.
However, Chelsea later took the lead 13 minutes into the second half through a Jorginho penalty after Antonio Rudiger was fouled in the box by Raphinha.
Joe Gelhardt levelled for Leeds United before Jorginho scored an injury time penalty after Rudiger was again fouled in the box.
Meanwhile, following the match, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel gave a honest verdict on Chelsea’s 3-2 victory over Leeds United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
Tuchel admitted after the game that the Blues were lucky to get all three points against Leeds United.
Tuchel told Sky Sports: “It was a nice game of football. Very intense and I’m very happy with how we played.
“I think we deserved to win but of course it’s lucky when you have a late goal in extra time. But coming back twice is very impressive and I’m very happy we turned things around. It was tough work but we didn’t expect anything else.
“We were lucky, we needed this. We were unlucky in last two games conceding very late goals so maybe this is exactly what we needed.”
