‘I have to do that! Tuchel finally reveals real reason of dropping Lukaku against Lille
Following Romelu Lukaku’s poor performance against Crystal Palace, The Chelsea striker was dropped for the game against Lille.
However, Lukaku put in an abysmal performance against the Eagles where he touched the ball just 7 times.
Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel decided to drop Lukaku to the bench for the Champions League clash against Lille, and he has claimed that the Belgian is a bit tired.
Tuchel said when asked about Lukaku’s absence: “I felt him a little bit tired.”
“He looked a bit exhausted and you have to consider that he’s played a lot.
“We’ve had extra time [in the Club World Cup final], a lot of travelling recently and it wasn’t easy for him against Palace, this wasn’t his best performance.
“So maybe it will be a bit easier for him to come on from the bench tonight and turn things around if we need him.”
