‘I hope he won’t score against me’: Courtois says of Chelsea star ahead of UCL clash

Ahead of Chelsea vs Real Madrid Champions League clash, Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois gives verdict on Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku.

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois said about his Belgium teammate Romelu Lukaku, as quoted by The Athletic. “I know Romelu is a really great striker,” He said..

“Obviously, it is a bit strange not to see him play that much lately. He is a guy with an enormous quality. He finds the goal easily.

“Obviously, there are other great strikers in Chelsea. I understand it is not always easy when the team is winning, obviously, the manager keeps playing the same players.

“But I’m sure he will get through it. Sometimes you just need a little adaptation. I had the same thing in my first season at Real Madrid, it wasn’t easy. I’m sure he will come through.

“I’m sure he will be good but I hope it’s not tomorrow. He can wait one more week.”

Lukaku has scored 12 goals this season, including just five goals in the Premier League. Of course, more was expected from the striker who joined Chelsea for £97.5m last summer.

It’s not even a given that Lukaku will face ex-Blue Courtois tomorrow, as he’s effectively become the second-choice striker behind Kai Havertz.
