Shaun Wright-Phillips, a former Chelsea winger, has already predicted who would win the Golden Boot next season.
Wright-Phillips believes Erling Haaland, Manchester City’s summer signing, will be the Premier League’s top scorer next season, and he’s willing to bet on it.
In recent years, Erling Haaland has established himself as one of Europe’s most clinical strikers.
Despite his youth, the 21-year-old striker has made a name for himself as a goal scorer.
Since joining Borussia Dortmund in January 2020, Haaland has 86 goals in 89 games for the club. Last season, despite an injury-plagued season, the Norwegian scored 29 goals.
Wright-Phillips told Genting Casino: “Erling Haaland. I’ll even put a bet on it too.”
He added: “I like Haaland’s confidence and you can see he’s got that little bit of arrogance which players need in today’s game. He’ll get plenty of chances playing in this Man City team so it’s just down to him to put them in the back of the net which we know he can do.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea may be in the market for a striker this summer, as Romelu Lukaku may seal a return back to Inter Milan.
