“I never expect him to do this” – Pochettino admits he didn’t expect this ‘one thing’ from Cole Palmer
Cole Palmer has been a revelation for Chelsea this season.
When the Blues paid £42.5million to sign Cole Palmer from Manchester City, not many expected this signing to be a great one. In fact, it even felt like Chelsea overpaid for the Man City academy product.
21-year-old Palmer has been playing like a seasoned pro, and he took it to another level against Everton, as he scored four goals in that game.
Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that although he knew Cole Palmer was a top talent, he also didn’t expect this high level of display so early into his Chelsea career.
On Palmer’s display, the Blues boss said: “I need to be honest, of course when we signed him he was a great talent.
“He is doing fantastic, he is doing really well and he has adapted himself. The impact on the team was amazing from day one. I am so happy for him and the team.”
Chelsea have gained ground in their quest for European qualification, after thrashing Everton 6-0.
Chelsea are currently 9th in the league, but the Blues are just three points behind 6th placed Newcastle, and have played a game less.
