“I rejected mega-offer to remain at Stamford Bridge last year” – Chelsea star reveals

Raheem Sterling has come under some criticism for not being consistent enough since he joined Chelsea from Manchester City two years ago, but the 29-year-old has certainly shown that he’s committed to the project at Stamford Bridge.

According to The Telegraph, Sterling was actually presented with an opportunity to leave the Blues, and triple his current salary at the club, but he passed on the offer.

The England international currently earns more than £300k a week, but that figure could have gone up to £1m if he accepted the offer to join a Saudi Arabian club last summer, the report claims.

Instead, Raheem Sterling refused to accept the deal because he believed it was not right to leave Chelsea after playing for them for just one season.

The winger was involved, as the Blues drew 1-1 with Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday, scoring the opener in the first half, before Rodri later equalised for the hosts.
