Baba Abdul Rahman, a Ghanaian international, was acquired by Chelsea from German club Augsburg in 2015 for £20 million.
Rahman, who is now 27 and has played for Chelsea for 7 years, wants to leave the team.
Since joining the club, the left back for Chelsea has made just 15 Premier League games and has spent the most of that time away on loan.
Baba Rahman has stated his ambition to play alongside Lionel Messi of Argentina.
Baba Rahman has acknowledged that he would like to play alongside Messi if he had to choose between the two players.
He said to TV3 Sports: “It’s a difficult question [choosing between Ronaldo and Messi]. They have their strengths. [If I had to play with one], I would choose Messi.
“[I would play] right-wing. It feels so satisfying watching a left-footer cutting inside and curling the ball into the net.”
Rahman played on loan for Reading before coming back to Chelsea. He will try to win over Thomas Tuchel before the next season.
The veteran Chelsea defender will be a part of the Blues’ preseason team in an effort to win over manager Thomas Tuchel.
Rahman’s future at the club is still up in the air; if not, he’ll probably be traded this summer.
