“I was sad to have left earlier than expected” – Chelsea player hopes ‘to return’ to club after deal was cut short
As we all know Kenedy, a winger for Chelsea, left the team in one of his numerous loans back in the summer of 2021.
However, At that point, he relocated to Brazil and joined Flamengo.
The winger anticipated having a harder difficulty adjusting because he was a member of a very good club that reached the Copa Libertadores final in December.
But after Ben Chilwell hurt himself, Blues manager Thomas Tuchel thought it was time to bring the loanee back.
Kenedy was brought back to Chelsea as a left-back squad option, but it turned out that he was only utilized three times, two of which were in the FA Cup.
Therefore, he has very good reason to be annoyed by that return, and he discussed this in an interview with SportBuzz this week.
Kenedy said: “I was sad to have left earlier than expected. I would have liked to stay longer, but it was not as I dreamed. I hope one day to return and everything will be different”.
“I played half a season in each team, so I didn’t have many opportunities. There’s no way to evaluate my season, but my goal as a professional is always to surpass myself more and more, we always want to enter the pitch to win.”
Now Kenedy is part of Chelsea’s squad for the season, as long as he doesn’t get involved in a late move in the transfer window, and he claims he’s motivated to play more for the Blues, trusting that Thomas Tuchel’s side will be fighting for big things.
“I always had motivation. Of course, with great signings, we always try to do our best and be within the group”.
“Yes, Chelsea are a great club and they will fight for all the trophies this season. It’s a squad with a lot of quality and great players.”
