“If he is fit, he will play against Chelsea” – as Jurgen Klopp reveals team news ahead of Carabao Cup final against Chelsea
Seems like Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is already revealing his team news ahead of Carabao Final against Chelsea next month.
However, the Liverpool boss has revealed one player is certain to start against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final.
According to Klopp, Liverpool’s second choice goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher will start in goal against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final.
Klopp said on Friday: “Caoimhin will play, if he is fit.”
“We consider Caoimhin as an outstanding goalie. Not a good goalie, an outstanding goalie, and we want to keep him here.
“And to keep him here you need to make sure of a few things. Before a season you need to think and talk about about the different games he will get.
“It is all about performing of course. If he didn’t perform on the level he performed when he played then I would maybe think differently.
“But he has shown he deserves all the trust and faith that we have in him. So that is the situation.”
The Irishman has played in every round of the competition, although did not feature in the first leg against Arsenal as Klopp wanted to give Alisson Becker game time after recovering from COVID-19.
