‘If you are going to wrestle with players’ – David Moyes reacts to Chelsea’s late goal following penalty and red card decision
It was a late drama at Stamford Bridge as Pulisic late goal against West Ham gives Chelsea crucial three points.
However, It had to take a 90th minute goal from substitute Christian Pulisic to give Chelsea the victory in this game.
West Ham came with a plan to frustrate Chelsea, and it worked until late in the game when Craig Dawson was issued a red card and Chelsea given a penalty.
Jorginho missed the penalty for Chelsea, but the Blues made amends three minutes later, with Christian Pulisic scoring a 90th minute winner.
Hammers boss David Moyes admitted that his side were keen on a point and also blamed Craig Dawson for giving out an easy penalty and red card.
David Moyes told BBC Sport: “I think for what we had done today, to make it difficult, which we did for most of the game, we didn’t quite have enough.
“I think Daws (Craig Dawson) should have met the ball and not given the ref a decision. If you are going to wrestle with players you give refs a decision to make. He had played very well before that.
“I thought it was our day to get something. A point would have been important for us. Coming here is never easy. We were very close.
“We hung in the game. We didn’t have loads of chances. It is the first time we have chosen to change some of our stronger players.”
