I’ll be in trouble, If I say this – Patrick Vieira on VAR decision after Chelsea 2-1 win

Conor Gallagher’s late winner gave Chelsea a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park after they overcame a deficit.

Thiago Silva’s handling of the ball in the first half of the game caused some controversy.

Thiago Silva was given a yellow card by referee Chris Kavanagh, much to the chagrin of Palace manager Patrick Vieira.

Speaking to the media after the game, Vieira said it was a wrong decision but decided against saying more, as he insisted he’d get into trouble for airing his views.

“Thiago, it’s something I don’t want to talk about. It’s difficult for me to understand it, to accept it, so it’s better sometimes to be quiet and not talk about it.

“I believe the referee got it wrong and if I say what I think, I will be in trouble. So I’d rather not talk about.

“I don’t want to talk about it because I don’t understand that decision and I don’t want to talk about it.

“There is a referee, there is a VAR and they are making decisions and we just move on.”
