“I’m expecting him to be out in the next 24hrs” “Am tired of watching us play” – Chelsea fans explodes the internet on Chelsea man after 1-1 draw against
In their Wednesday night Champions League matchup against Red Bull Salzburg, Chelsea came up short. The Blues managed to take the lead, but their Austrian opponents equalized and prevented any Stamford Bridge celebrations.
Following a moment of silence in honor of the late Queen Elizabeth II, both teams started a tense match in which Chelsea quickly had the first significant opportunity to score. In the fifth minute, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang seized possession of a loose ball in the area but was unable to get his effort on goal.
Early on, Jorginho and Kepa Arrizabalaga’s miscommunication almost allowed their opponents to seize the ball, but the pair was spared by the referee’s call following a foul on Jorginho.
Chelsea’s attacking players posed a major danger to Salzburg even though their defense appeared to falter a little bit against them. For the majority of the first half, the Blues recycled the assault in an attempt to find a way to breach Red Bull’s defense, but they were unable.
Mason Mount’s wonderful shot on the edge of the box gave Graham Potter’s team another significant opportunity late in the first half.
The forward curled the ball too far out, causing his shot to just miss the mark. Additionally, Red Bull Salzburg capitalized on its opportunities, with Benjamin Sesko firing a powerful shot late in the first half to keep Kepa on his toes.
With fresh vigor, the Blues attacked the second half, and their efforts were rewarded just three minutes in with a goal. Raheem Sterling, a recent acquisition, was on hand to excite the Blues fans with a beautifully curled finish into the far post.
@makadeni1: #PotterOut he’s had more than enough time to turn this team around. If you can’t do it in 90 minutes you won’t be able to do it in 9 months. Time for a change. #Chelsea
@_fels1: Graham Potter OUT!
@cfcticketspare: He’s put on Connor Gallagher chasing a goal. Sack him right now. #PotterOut
@gate17marco: Different manager, same old Chelsea.
Defence frailties exposed.
Failure to capitalise on possession.
Chances squandered.
Positive attitude a plus.
17 days until the next game.
Plenty of time for Graham Potter to work things out.
Keep the faith & the Blue Flag flying high
@IbzSpeaks: Funny how this so-called Wizard is playing for a manager named Potter and he’s somehow the worst player on the pitch.
Get Hakim Ziyech out of this club.
@TheFootballInd: #PotterOut is already trending
@_owurakuampofo: Not the best start for Graham Potter. Chelsea now with just one point after two games and successive matches against AC Milan upcoming.
@CFCPys: No manager we bring into the club can save some of these players, they aren’t even good enough to be on our bench, we’ve got so much building to do, Bottom of the group. 1 point. AC Milan twice. Europa league looking very likely.
@CFCPys: Boo’s at Stamford bridge from Chelsea fans. (
@TenHagEra: I’m expecting Graham Potter to be sacked in the next 24 hours.
@Mxdiano: Graham Potter learned a very valuable lesson today. Your £110M worth of centre backs were bought for a very very good reason.
