‘I’m not worried! as Club chief tells Chelsea to pay €80m to sign 24-years-old Italian star

According to latest reports, AS Roma general manager Tiago Pinto has indeed confirmed the Blues have a buy-back clause on Tammy Abraham’s transfer.

However, since leaving Chelsea for the Italian side last summer, Abraham has impressed. Across all competitions, the 24-year-old has had 17 goals and three assists from 29 appearances for Roma. He has scored 10 league goals in the Serie A.

When asked about Abraham’s possible return to Chelsea, Roma chief Pinto gave a calm response.

Pinto said in a press conference on Tuesday(via Tuttomercatoweb): “No, the [buy-back] clause comes into effect in 2023, but I’m not worried.”

“He’s playing well, and, as the coach said, he can do even better.

“For his first year in Italy, he is doing well, but I am not worried about Chelsea’s buy-back right.”

Chelsea sold Abraham to Roma for €40million last summer but inserted an €80million buy-back in the transfer agreement with Roma.

However, Chelsea can only trigger the buy-back in Abraham’s contract in the summer of 2023.
