Seems we are getting close to the sale of Chelsea as Raine group has shortlisted four preferred buyers.
However, According to The Athletic, 67 year old American billionaire Stephen Pagliuca has been shortlisted among the four preferred bidders to buy Chelsea.
Pagliuca is co-owner of NBA outfit Boston Celtics and also owns a 55 per cent stake of Serie A side Atalanta.
According to Wallmine, he is currently valued at approximately $3.87billion (£2.9billion) dollars having built up his fortune via a number of lucrative business ventures throughout his career. He is a private equity investor, whilst acting as the co-chairman of Bain Capital – an investment firm based in Boston.
Meanwhile, Saudi Media Group, Nick Candy’s consortium and Centricus are all out of the race to buy Chelsea.
