According to latest reports, Billy Gilmour was sent on his way to Norwich City with some kind messages from several of his Chelsea colleges.

It was announced today that Gilmour would be joining the Canaries on a season-long loan.

The 20-year-old hardly kicked a football for Chelsea in the previous campaign, as he looks to accelerate his career further.

Norwich should act as a decent platform to exhibit his abilities, whilst also helping him get up to speed with the demands of regular football.

Not long after his move was confirmed, Gilmour uploaded a photo to Instagram of himself, wrapped in a scarf coated in his new club’s colours.

As many of his Chelsea teammates were unable to say goodbye in the flesh, they waved farewell on social media instead. Check below!

Ben Chilwell and Callum Hudson-Odoi both wished the young midfielder good luck on his new adventure.

As did returning loanee Conor Gallagher and former Blues academy product Jonathan Panzo.

This is a huge step for Gilmour, who will be aiming to propel his progression forward.

He’s only previously played 11 times in the Premier League.

With Norwich, expect those numbers to skyrocket as they look to cement their position in the top division.

Help keep the Canaries afloat and the Scotland international could be handed the keys to all of Norfolk.
