(Image): Reece James digs at Crystal Palace star after Chelsea 2-1 win as his sister trolls away fans
Following his team’s triumph on Saturday, Chelsea defender Reece James looked to make a covert jab at Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha. Chelsea defeated Crystal Palace 2-1 thanks to a last-second goal from Connor Gallagher against his former team.
However, Odsonne Edouard surprised Graham Potter’s team by scoring the game’s first goal against the flow of play. Thiago Silva, a seasoned defender, was fortunate to avoid receiving a straight red card for preventing a goal-scoring opportunity.
Meanwhile, prior to the match, one of the pre-match analyses centred around two in-form players going head to head against each other. James, perhaps maybe with Raheem Sterling, has been Chelsea’s standout player amid a lacklustre season. Zaha, meanwhile, has been Palace’s go-to man as usual and has already racked up four goals this season.
The Ivorian winger prefers to run down and initiate his attacks from the same wing that James always mans. James ended up getting one better of the 29-year-old.
Zaha was largely subdued in the game as he failed to make the desired impact for Patrick Viera’s side. He had a ferocious shot on target that was parried away by Kepa Arrizabalaga. James afterwards took to his Twitter account and posted a picture of himself and Zaha along with a padlock emoji which could mean he had safely kept the winger at bay.
Meanwhile, Reece James’ sister had also earlier trolled away fans as we reported earlier reported that Lauren James, the younger sister of Chelsea’s fullback Reece James, showed her uncanny nature when she trolled her opponents. Lauren, who plays for Chelsea Women, missed a penalty against West Ham United Women in a Women’s Super League match.
The West Ham supporters started booing her and Lauren responded in kind by making a gesture to the fans in an apparent move to remind them what the scoreline was.
This is a great bond between the two James family!
