‘In principle! as Chelsea player finally has an agreement to join Barcelona this summer
It’s seems Chelsea will be losing two leaders in the squad this summer as Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta looks to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
However, Rudiger was linked to Real Madrid as Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta has been linked to Barcelona.
Meanwhile, according to the reliable journalist Gerard Romero, Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta has an agreement in principle to join Barcelona when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Romero reports that Barcelona have an agreement ‘in principle’ for Azpi to join them in June. Only a few minor personal details need sorting out and then the contract can be signed.
However, these ‘personal issues’ can also ‘change the course of the whole operation’, Romero warns.
Chelsea have showed a lack of urgency in renewing Azpilicueta’s contract despite his contract expiring at the end of the season.
Speaking recently about Azpilicueta’s contract situation, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel said: “I don’t see any problem here. The situation between Azpi, me and the club is very clear.
“He is our captain. He has all possibilities to stay here as long as possible and become the legend he already is. He is a fantastic captain and a fantastic player.
“If there are some weeks where he does not play so much, like in the last weeks, there are some reasons. That’s how it is. If there is any player who knows it is like this, it’s Azpi.
“He is very calm. He has everything in his own hands. I see no signs we should be worried about it.”
Chelsea could also be set to lose Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, with their contracts expiring at the end of the season.
