Inter Milan announcement means Chelsea edge closer to wrapping up summer deal for 29-goal hitman

Inter Milan’s sporting director Piero Ausilio has ruled out a move for Chelsea target Timo Werner, after the striker was linked with the Serie A club.

German striker Werner, is rated as one of the hottest prospects in Europe, with reports in the media all suggesting that he is seeking that big move to further develop his name in the game, with a host of top clubs linked with a possible move.

The German is one of the top scorers in Europe this season with 29 goals in all competitions, and is tipped to become one of the most deadly strikers in the game, with many believing that Lampard is a massive fan of the talented young German and firmly believes he could add something to the side.

Chelsea failed to get their transfer business done in the January window but have already kicked off the summer window with the signing of Hakim Ziyech, who will officially arrive at Chelsea when the transfer window officially opens up.

Lampard needs to add a world class defender, a leader at the back, he also needs to add some superstardom to that midfield, a creative force, and he also needs to delve into that transfer kitty, spend some big money and acquire Werner.

However, it was claimed in the media this week that Chelsea could miss out on a potential deal for Werner in the summer to Italian giants Inter Milan, who were reportedly interested in a transfer deal. But as soon as the rumours started, the Italian giants have given Chelsea a boost in their chase by coming out and revealing that they will not be looking to sign Werner.

He told Sky Italy: “Timo Werner will not come to Inter. I know his thoughts about his future and we’ll not sign him. I love him as a player but we’ve never started talks to sign him.”

There is a reason why Werner is such an in-demand player, and that is because he is that good. We have said it before and we will say it again, Chelsea would be very lucky to get this man over the course
