“Is Chelsea a joke to you”? “Chelsea fans are getting tired of you” – Michael Essien disappointed at what 24-year-old Chelsea star did in 2-2 draw against Sheffield United

“Is Chelsea a joke to you”? “Chelsea fans are getting tired of you” – Michael Essien disappointed at what 24-year-old Chelsea star did in 2-2 draw against Sheffield United

Following their 2-2 draw with Sheffield United this evening, Chelsea have another game to regret.

Mauricio Pochettino’s team appeared to be winning the game after Noni Madueke’s incredible goal gave them a 2-1 lead.

But Oli McBurnie’s late goal leveled the score and made sure the points were shared.

In the end, Chelsea’s performance was incredibly disappointing, particularly in the first half.

Michael Essien, a former top player for Chelsea, was once shocked by what one member of his previous team was capable of.

While Chelsea were able to take the lead after Thiago Silva scored from a corner, again, they were extremely poor in the first 45 minutes.

Conor Gallagher, who strangely started on the left today, was dropping back to left-back to pick up the ball, something that stunned Essien.

Michael Essien said: “Conor Gallagher’s having to drop back at left-back sometimes to pick up the ball. I’m so disappointed with what I’m watching with us.”

Most Chelsea fans must be starting to get sick with all of the experimenting that Mauricio Pochettino is doing.

Before his injury, it had been Colwill at left-back, for example, and today supporters saw a central midfielder playing on the flank.

For someone who is under pressure, with his side still not in the European spots, Pochettino really doesn’t help himself at times.

Going forward, Gallagher starting on the left is not something Chelsea fans will want to see.

The 24-year-old was recently hailed as a “great footballer” by Gary Cahill, but he is not going to get to show that playing on the wing.
