‘It makes absolute sense, sign him’ – Former Chelsea player tells club to sign 250,000k a-week World Cup winner

Glen Johnson, a former Chelsea right-back, has advised the club to make a move for Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele.

If Chelsea can get Dembele for free this summer, Johnson believes it would be a wise business decision.

Johnson told bettingodds.com: “I believe it’s a no-brainer.”

“You’ve got to do some clever business. You can’t just go out and spend top dollar for all the best players.

“If you can get players on the cheap or on a free then it makes absolute sense. You have to think, what would Dembele cost if he had four years left on his contract? So yes, I think if that sort of deal becomes available then you have to jump at it.”

With Chelsea having already lost Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen for free, it would be a smart decision to spend nothing in signing Dembele.
