Italians will allow world class star to join Chelsea if Blues can pay £68 million
Gianluca DiMarzio, a transfer specialist, predicts that Chelsea would need to make an offer of about £68 million to convince Matthijs de Ligt to leave Juventus this summer.
It is no secret that Tuchel wants to bolster his back line given the number of players who have already left the club this transfer window and the other stars who are rumored to be leaving the club.
And it prompted media rumors that De Ligt is a player we would like to add to their roster this transfer window, despite the fact that his £102 million asking price has been a challenge.
He has a contract that expires at the end of the upcoming campaign, and if you believe all the rumors, he would be extremely interested in leaving the Italian giants and joining the Premier League.
However, it appears that the club’s pursuit of the guy has gained some momentum as DiMarzio revealed that it might only cost £68 million to convince him to leave Juventus this summer.
He told wettfreunde: “Matthijs is Tuchel’s top target and also Bayern Munich’s top target.
“Now it will depend on which club agrees to the price that Juventus is asking.”
“They say they want almost €125m (£106m) but I think if a club with €80m (£68m) comes without players they would say okay and open a new market with the money they get for Matthijs.”
