‘It’s was nothing’ – David Moyes finally reveals why Chelsea’s performance against Real Madrid was nothing
The Blues produced one of the best displays of the season, as the Blues bounced back to record a 3-0 lead over Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, Rodrygo burst Chelsea’s bubble in the 80th minute, as he scored a goal that took the game into extra time.
At the end, Chelsea were knocked out after an extra time goal from Karim Benzema.
West Ham boss David Moyes hailed Chelsea’s performance against Madrid, but maintained that a fine performance counts for nothing when your team is knocked out of a competition.
Speaking ahead of West Ham’s Europa League tie with Lyon, Moyes said:
“I think when you get to these stages the be-all and end-all is the result. I’ve got to say, Chelsea’s performance was excellent.
“But ultimately, you always look for the result. You want to get through. You want to qualify.”
