John Terry ‘slams’ one particular Chelsea player for defensive errors

The Assistant Manager John terry fell to defeat against Tottenham, but he was also a pundit on Monday night’s big game between Chelsea and Manchester United.

At half time he was asked about who he blamed for Chelsea conceding their first goal, and he picked out a different player to most pundits.

Everyone noticed that Andreas Christensen had just been off the pitch with a bleeding nose, and that Anthony Martial was able to get across him and win a header to score.

But Terry, in quotes from his stint as DAZN as featured on sites like the Metro, was adamant it was also Antonio Rudiger’s fault:

“I think if you look at Rudiger in the build-up to that, the ball goes wide and he kind of gets sucked out into an area where he’s not really going to affect it. He can pass him on,” the former Blues legend noted.

“If you could have Rudiger just outside the six-yard box, just to stop that run across, Martial then can’t make that run across and that just allows that second centre-half to go touch-tight and be more aggressive with him.”

There’s nobody you’d trust more on defensive matters than JT, and he’s spot on once again. Time and again Rudiger proves he’s prone to errors in positioning, and the club must be looking at a big central defender signing for this summer.

It’s one of many areas that was once again shown up as not good enough tonight.
