Jose Mourinho reveals which goalkeeper he wants Chelsea to start ahead of derby clash
Ahead of Jose Mourinho return to Stamford Bridge on Sunday, the former Blues coach as give his take on Chelsea squad.
“With such an amazing squad, [Chelsea are able] to play James or Azpilicueta, or play Chilwell, Alonso or Emerson, to play Mendy or play the most expensive goalkeeper in the history of the Premier League [Kepa Arrizabalaga],”. Jose said.
“Chelsea has an amazing squad, so I’m not even worried about who is going to play because they only have very good players.”
Of course, Kepa’s career at Chelsea has not gone the way anyone hoped when the Spaniard joined the Blues in the summer of 2018.
He has not played for the club since a 3-3 draw against Southampton over a month ago.
Since then, Edouard Mendy has become an undisputed first-choice keeper. All in all, he’s just conceded 3 goals in 10 games across all competitions (yes, as many as Kepa let in in that Soton match alone) since arriving at Stamford Bridge this summer.
