Journalist confirms Chelsea are keen to land three targets valued at 340M in January
According to the Daily Telegraph‘s Matt Law, Chelsea have now formally entered the race for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.
The journalist, who is very reliable when it comes to the Blues, claims that the London club are aware that Liverpool and Real Madrid are the frontrunners for the teenager, but co-owner Todd Boehly feels they can make up ground in negotiations:
Reports have suggested that Dortmund could hold out for as much as €150m (£136m) for Bellingham, but Chelsea are not likely to be put off by the reported asking price.
The Blues are keen on signing at least one new midfielder and Law claims that West Ham’s Declan Rice is still on the club’s radar, despite the Hammers’ having made it clear that they won’t sell the 23-year-old for less than £150m.
RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku also remains a target and the Frenchman is expected to be the easiest of the three targets to snap up next summer considering he has a €60m (£54m) release clause.
Chelsea are trying to jump up the Bellingham queue – Boehly trying to muscle in on Madrid and Liverpool. Interest also remains in Rice #cfc https://t.co/TUIQZMaSHH
