Just in: Chelsea makes final decision on £35million player ahead of next year
According to latest reports, Chelsea have finally made the decision to release Danny Drinkwater from the club after his loan move to Reading runs out in June, according to The Times.
Drinkwater has struggled to make an impact at Chelsea since he joined from Leicester City in 2017 for £35million.
His loan move to Reading is his fourth since joining Chelsea. He has had highly underwhelming stints at Burnley, Aston Villa and Turkish side Kasimpasa.
Drinkwater’s Chelsea contract will expire at the end of the current season and Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia has now made the decision not to offer the midfielder a new contract.
