Just in: Marina to announced second Chelsea deal this week after Chelsea confirms first summer signing
Chelsea have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli on a free transfer following his release by Fulham.
The 29 year old goalkeeper had his Chelsea medical on Tuesday ahead of signing a two-year deal with Chelsea.
Bettinelli will provide cover for Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga at Stamford Bridge and replaces Willy Caballero, who was released this summer.
This is the first of a few deals, as the Blues won’t be making much signings this summer. Chelsea had a splurge last summer, and Thomas Tuchel will only expect a few signings to paper the cracks in the team.
Meanwhile, the next deal expected to be confirmed by the club is a move for Sevilla defender Jules Kounde. Kounde looks set to bring an end to his two-year spell at Sevilla this summer, and a deal could be finalised this week.
Afterwards, Chelsea will focus on the club’s search to sign a quality striker, which is the main transfer objective this summer.
