Just in: UK government finally permits Chelsea to sell match tickets on one condition
According to latest reports reaching us tonight, Chelsea fans will now be able to buy tickets for Chelsea games after the club was initially restricted from selling tickets to games following sanctions placed on Roman Abramovich.
According to The Athletic, the UK government has now amended licence issued to Chelsea with supporters now able to purchase tickets to away matches and visiting fans also able to attend matches at Stamford Bridge.
However, Chelsea cannot sell tickets to games at Stamford Bridge, with only season-ticket holders able to attend those fixtures.
Chelsea will be able to sell tickets for home matches in the Champions League and Women’s Super League.
Chelsea were again permitted to sell tickets to fans on the condition that proceeds from sales of match tickets be transferred “to a permitted third party” — defined as “relevant bodies” or another club — who may keep the proceeds of any sales.
