Kane drops biggest Spurs exit hint ahead of possible summer Chelsea move
Harry Kane has admitted that he will have to have talks with Tottenham over his future as Chelsea on the verge to sign star.
Kane has reiterated that it is his desire to play in the biggest games and has suggested that he will not get that opportunity at Tottenham.
Spurs will finish outside the Champions League spots this season, and with Kane turning 28 in the summer, he has hinted that it could be time to move on.
‘It’s going to be down to me’ – Kane
Speaking to Sky Bet, he replied when asked by Gary Neville if there is a crossroads moment in his career coming: “I think so. There’s definitely a conversation to be had with the club. I want to be playing in the biggest games, in the biggest moments.
“This season, I’ve been watching the Champions League, watching the English teams and they’re doing amazing. They’re the games I want to be involved in.
“So for sure, it’s a moment in my career where I have to reflect and see where I’m at and have a good honest conversation with the chairman. I’m sure he’ll want to set out a plan of where he see it, but ultimately it’s going to be down to me and how I feel and what’s going to be best for me in my career at this moment in time.”
Kane says that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, who has the reputation of being a tough operator, has always treated him fairly.
“He’s been great with me,” he said. “He’s always rewarded me with contracts. I signed a four- or five-year deal when I was 21 and he always added to that. He’s never kind of just held me onto a contract. We’ve always had a good relationship, but I’m not sure how that relationship will go.
“But as a player, you don’t know what the chairman’s thinking. He might be thinking: ‘If I could get £100 million for you then why now.’
“I’ve given the club 16 years of my life so we’ll see where we’re at.”
These words, together with Spurs not coming outright to deny Kane’s happiness at the club, will be music to the ears of Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea and any other clubs who may have their eye on Kane.
