Klopp: There are eight teams in the Premier League title race
Jurgen Klopp believes there is as many as eight teams who could challenge for the Premier League title in 2020/21.
The opening eight matches or so in the new season have been bizarre to say the least, with a raft of more goals being scored as well as a string of shocking results, no more so than when Aston Villa defeated Liverpool 7-2.
The flurry of surprising scorelines has left just three points separating Leicester City in first and Aston Villa in sixth.
The Foxes currently lead the table after winning six out of their opening eight, while losing the other two.
Liverpool, meanwhile, are third after winning five, drawing two, and losing one.
The top eight currently consists of Leicester, Tottenham, Liverpool, Southampton, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Everton, and Crystal Palace.
Big-hitters like Man City, Arsenal, and Man Utd are further down.
Although not naming the teams, Klopp reckons there are eight contenders for the title this year.
“[I think there could be up to] eight”, the former Dortmund boss replied when asked by the Mail how many teams could be involved.
