Frank Lampard had to cope with many challenges as the new Chelsea boss – transfer ban and losing Eden Hazard to Real Madrid were just a few of those.
The ban was eventually lifted and Chelsea have even managed to sign Hakim Ziyech, who’s set to join the team in the summer. For now, though, Lamps has to rely on the Academy graduates.
“We couldn’t control the ban,” the Blues boss told reporters, as quoted by Goal.
“We lost the best player in the Premier League in Hazard. We are trying to improve on the training pitch.
We have shown we can get into fourth and now we have to kick on.”
Hazard, meanwhile, must be regretting his decision to leave the Stamford Bridge.
The Belgian has spent almost 3 months on the sidelines with an ankle injury and has so far played only 10 games in La Liga, scoring once.
