Lampard gives one ‘HUGE’ reason why Chelsea lost to Everton

Chelsea hit the goal post twice in the game against Everton, as the Blues tried to bounce back from an early Gylfi Sigurdsson penalty goal in the first half.

It was drab from the Chelsea attack for most part of the game, and Jordan Pickford also did well to get the win for Everton.

Speaking after the game, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard insisted that his team weren’t unlucky, as he rather maintained that the team didn’t play well enough to warrant a win.

“We could have got something out of the game, but I wouldn’t say we were unlucky,” the Chelsea boss assessed.

“We didn’t pepper their goal with great opportunities. We weren’t at our best. We didn’t deal with the physicality of the early parts of the game well.

“Once you go 1-0 down you give yourself a problem and give them something to hang on to. We didn’t show enough to break them down.

“If we are honest with ourselves it wasn’t the us of recently.”
