Chelsea beat wolves 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon as the Blues finish in top 4 race. After the game Lampard is not excited as he’s eager to close the huge gaps between Liverpool and Man city against next season.

After the game Lampard said:

“I suppose at Chelsea we have to be careful getting excited by top-four finishes, but coming into the job, I don’t think a lot of people put us in that bracket,” a happy Frank Lampard told Sky Sports after his team beat Wolves to secure a Champions League spot for the next season.

“We know where we are at, it is progress and can we get better and now we’ve secured top four can we look to improve to close that gap? “The gap is there for a reason and there because Manchester City and Liverpool have taken it to different levels.”

Meanwhile, Pundits Alan Shearer, Stan Collymore, and Jamie Redknapp praised Lampard’s debut season and highlighted that the team’s success after losing Eden Hazard and having a transfer ban is amazing.

Indeed, top 4 is never the sole aim for our club – with the arrival of new signings such as Timo Werner (and hopefully Kai Havertz soon), we’re sure that the team can aim for the title next season!

But of course, there are two games remaining this season as Chelsea play Arsenal in the FA Cup final on 1 August before taking on Bayern Munich in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on 8 August.
