Chelsea got a comeback in the game against West Brom, but it wasn’t the scoreline Chelsea fans would have been expecting against a West Brom side that were yet to get a point heading to the game.

As early as 27 minutes into the game, Chelsea were already 3-0 down in the first half, and Chelsea boss Frank Lampard had to make two changes at half-time to change the game.

The Blues boss was full of praise for half-time substitutes Cesar Azpilicueta and Callum Hudson-Odoi for changing the game, with Hudson-Odoi having an even bigger impact by scoring a goal and creating a spark in the team.

“Azpi brings personality straight into the team even at left-back and Calum brought one v one something different,” Lampard told Sky Sports after the match.

“[He] got at people, things that Callum needs to do and can do because of his talent so he made a big difference.”

Meanwhile, Callum Hudson-Odoi told the BBC after the game: “At 3-0 we wanted to try to get the points and had the feeling that we would get the goals.

“We felt it was on and put a lot of pressure on straight away in the second half. ‘It was good, we worked hard, got the ball wide early, kept playing and got the goals.

“The new boys have gelled really well. All worked hard. They’ve improved us and have shown they are quality players with the right mentality to win games.”
