Lampard speaks on his current relationship with Kepa Arrizabalaga ahead of Bournemouth clash

Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga hasn’t been in goal since the 2-2 draw with Arsenal back in January as he has now missed Chelsea’s last four games.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has preferred Willy Caballero in goal for the last four games, with Kepa sitting on the bench.

Kepa is the most expensive goalkeeper in the world, and there are concerns about Lampard benching him for a 38-year-old goalkeeper, but Lampard has now maintained that his relationship with Kepa is fine.

“My relationship is fine,” Lampard said when questioned about Kepa Arrizabalaga.

“I have 20 or so players to keep happy but I can’t keep them all happy at the same time so all I expect is professionalism in training, which Kepa has shown.

“Every player is in control of their own destiny with how they train and how they turn up every day. Kepa is training well but so is Willy Caballero, who’s also been playing pretty well and made some really good saves against Bayern Munich. I have competition there so I will decide as we go.”

Lampard revealed that he has read some false stories in the media about his relationship with Kepa.

He said: “I have read a lot of false articles of guessing players. All I am focusing on is game by game. Then there is decisions for the club.”
