Chelsea boss Frank Lampard admits they’ll need more than Timo Werner to turn them into title contenders.
The RB Leipzig striker will join Chelsea at the end of the Bundesliga season, though Lampard is keen to ease expectations around his arrival.
“I’m not going to say we can fight for the title because we’ve picked up one player,” says Lampard.
“Liverpool and City are two of the best clubs in the world, if not the best. We know that and we know there is a difference between them and us in this league.
“We have a lot of work ahead of us on the training ground, because it takes something special to be able to win the matches as consistently as the two clubs do.
“We know there is a gap between us and City and Liverpool because they pick up points more consistently than us. We must give them full credit for that.”
