Latest Chelsea injury updates and team news ahead of Krasnodar clash

Chelsea are back in action on Tuesday night when they welcome Krasnodar to Stamford Bridge in the Champions League.

The Blues are in red hot form right now, winning eight of their past nine fixtures.

Frank Lampard’s side came from behind to see off Leeds United 3-1 in the Premier League on Saturday night so will be hoping for a similar performance against the Russian club.

Chelsea won the reverse fixture 4-0 although since they have already won their group, the result on Tuesday has little effect going forward.

Ahead of the game, here is the latest on the injury front for the Blues.

Hakim Ziyech
The 27-year-old limped off with a hamstring injury after half an hour during the win over Leeds on Saturday.

Lampard said post match: “It’s the hamstring. He felt it go so we will have to find out what degree it is over the next couple of days.”

The Blues will be hoping the influential midfielder is not out for too long, as he suffered a similar problem earlier in the season.

Ziyech was replaced by Christian Pulisic, who went on to score the third goal against Leeds.

It’s unlikely Ziyech will feature against Krasnodar but Chelsea will be hoping he could play a part against Palace next weekend.

However, Kai Havertz and Olivier Giroud also came off against Leeds but their withdrawals were not injury related.

The former did have a setback as he was diagnosed with coronavirus and although not severely ill, he is still rediscovering his sharpness.

Young midfielder Billy Gilmour is also back fit but he did not make the matchday squad over the weekend.
