Lukaku makes Chelsea decision after Tuchel’s sacking as Potter becomes Chelsea manager

Chelsea paid £97.5 million to acquire Romelu Lukaku last summer, but the Belgian never lived up to the lofty expectations placed on him.

Lukaku eventually signed an agreement to return to Inter Milan, albeit on a season-long loan, after spending a year at Chelsea.

Throughout his one year at Chelsea, Lukaku never seemed to fit Thomas Tuchel’s playing philosophy, and the Belgian never gave the idea of returning to the team once the season was over any thought.

Lukaku’s future has once again become uncertain in the wake of Thomas Tuchel’s firing due to rumors of a potential return to Chelsea at the end of the current campaign.

However, According to reports from Italy, Lukaku has no intention of returning to Chelsea.

Reports also indicate that Inter Milan, who do not have a buy option, will look to loan the 29-year-old once again for the 2023-24 season.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan CEO Giuseppe Marotta had admitted he doesn’t know what the future will hold for Lukaku following the dismissal of Thomas Tuchel.

“It’s fresh news. I don’t know what the effects will be,” Marotta told Sky Italia while reacting to Tuchel’s sacking.

“We absolutely want to get the best contribution out of Lukaku, and then at the end of the season we’ll sit down and discuss him with Chelsea.

“I don’t know if a change of coaches means that his return is to be automatic, it’s difficult to predict today.”
