Lukaku sends strong title warning message to Man City and Liverpool

Chelsea are six points behind leaders Manchester City after beating Aston Villa 3-1 on Sunday evening.

However, the Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku scored his first Premier League goal in over 100 days as his header gave Chelsea the lead in last night’s win against Aston Villa.

The Belgian International was in a happy and confident mood after the match. He told the media of the team’s mentality and the need to win more games to reach back to the top of the table: “We are the hunters now.

“The last results for us were not the best and now we have to chase. Every game for us for now until the end of the season is final. Today we won and now we have to push on and keep chasing.

“Today we had to win the game. Credit to Steven Gerrard and his staff, they have a really good team. But at the end our quality came through.”

Chelsea needed this win as the Blues had won only two of their six games prior to this. Hopefully, Lukaku’s return will boost the team and they can close the gap with Man City slowly – Guardiola’s men are six points ahead at the moment.

Liverpool have the same points as Chelsea but they have one game in hand and a superior goal difference.
