Manchester City offer £190K-a-week player to Chelsea
According to The Telegraph through Metro UK, Manchester City has offered Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus to Chelsea.
However, Arsenal has reportedly made a £40 million offer for Gabriel, which is less than Manchester City’s £50 million asking price.
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is keen to recruit a new mobile striker this summer, with Romelu Lukaku expected to leave the club less than a year after joining.
After Lukaku struggled to adjust to Chelsea’s possession-based football, Tuchel is said to believe Gabriel Jesus will suit his style of play.
Chelsea will almost certainly outbid Arsenal on a transfer fee, and Jesus will be able to play in the Champions League if he joins the Blues.
Jesus’ contract at the Etihad expires in 12 months, and he has regretfully decided to quit the club following the arrival of Dortmund’s Erling Haaland.
