Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen put in an excellent performance in the 2-1 win over Manchester City. The Danish international has been criticised for his lack of consistency this season but he was very much on his game last night.
The centre-back has started both games since the Premier League’s resumption and supporters on Twitter are hopeful that the 24-year-old will now begin to put a good run of form together:
Manager Frank Lampard has chopped and changed his centre-back pairing this season, with the Blues boss seemingly unconvinced with the options available to him.
However, if Christensen begins to put in the level of performance he displayed last night on a regular basis, Lampard may not need to go out and sign a new centre-half before the start of next season.
After showing his manager he was up for the challenge against City, the next goal will be to keep a clean sheet and secure a place in the FA Cup semi-final by beating Leicester on Sunday.
