Granovskaia ‘is determined’ to sign£80 million midfielder for Chelsea in January
According to The latest reports, Chelsea transfer chief Marina Granovskaia is determined to sign Declan Rice in January.
The Hammers held on to their best all-rounder in the transfer window despite growing interest from Chelsea, with constant reports suggesting that he was the one player that Frank Lampard really wanted to sign in the transfer window.
That speculation has not gone away and there is a massive feeling that the likes of Chelsea will try to make a move in the next few transfer windows, especially if he continues to impress and put in the performances that are catching the eye.
Now the Daily Express website has claimed Granovskaia is hoping Chelsea can raise funds for a move for Rice with the sales of Antonio Rudiger and Kepa Arrizabalaga in the January window, as they know that the Hammers will not want to sell unless a big offer is submitted.
Stuart Pearce recently told the midfielder that he believes in following your heart and not always your head to get the best out of your time as a player, and has urged the midfielder to ignore all the transfer speculation and stay at the Hammers
He was recently quoted on the SUN: “Put it this way, I’m probably testament to that. I played my football where I enjoyed playing football and turned money down to stay where I was happy.
“My biggest driver was probably playing for the national team. I get the same impression now with Dec — he is intensely proud of representing England.
“He’ll make his own decisions but we are lucky at West Ham to have a current captain called Mark Noble who has been here for a number of years and has shown great loyalty to the club.
“I like to think Dec will be at West Ham for years to come, leading the club on to success.”
Look, there has been alot said about the quality of Rice, and although the Hammers are having a decent start to the season, he is one player that is destined for the very top and if he stays at the Hammers, he may look back on his career when he retires and regret not making a big move.
